 Pure Lust vs. Lost Blood
picture
"A world with many fruits yet bared and many more in prime
To pull apart the pulpy flesh and sip from what's inside
In ecstasy the warmth within is felt by sallow hands
Which mold an all to willing flesh entranced by feral eyes
Journey's end in lands once verboten,
By Crimson Might the precept was broken
From the skies yet more descend and swoop upon the tithe
For as Lords and Ladies this must surely be their prize
A glint of Mistress in their blades before they find their mark
And in the wake of frenzy's end the sated now depart
Silhouettes on ancient walls await the coming of nightfall
where shadows pale as one
As one blade with many wills with ceremonies end the nature reveals
The need for the piercing blows - an opiate to the night
By the Scarlet Lust Within the new found world will fall
In a land far, far from the source, far from the light
Order decayed, decay wore away the immortal pride
Greener pastures overcome by foul decay
The strongest first to fall with the weakest easily swayed
With a scarlet gauntlet I rule by might that shall never be tethered
In the Black & Crimson Glory I exist forever

 World War IV .. ?! !?
Beloved Flemming posted the following stats today. Forgive me, NCN members, but I am compelled to include these on my own blog, for public record. At the end of the list Ming writes "Get the picture? But does this make a difference for the general public? So many of us are so disconnected from reality and from our logical faculties that even clear facts make little difference." Again, it has to do with the framing vs the facts issue... how the mind does not have a clear thought and therefore will allow the abstract Big Brother to do the thinking for it...

 journalism lies and cover ups
By the Way, Florida appeals court says news media lies and distortions are not illegal -
"March 13, 2003—If you've ever suspected that when you tune into TV news programs you're not getting all the facts, then give yourself a pat on the back for being right, because a Florida Court of Appeals has recently ruled that lying and distortion of the truth by the media isn't in fact illegal..."

This is a UK site where the orthodox views of the mainstream media are being questioned -- "Media Workers Against War":
"The best global source on the web for anti-war news, views and updates on the international peace movement - updated daily."
Published on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 by Reuters Group: Iraq TV Raid May Break Geneva Convention
"BRUSSELS - The head of the world's biggest journalists' organization said a U.S. bomb and missile attack on Iraqi television on Wednesday was an attempt at censorship and may have breached the Geneva Conventions."
Here and there:
"U.S. troops in Iraq detained two Israeli journalists and Portuguese colleague on suspicion of espionage and beat one of them, relatives said Friday. They were released after 48 hours.

The journalists, Dan Scemama, of Channel One Television and Boaz Bismuth of the Yedioth Aharonoth entered Iraq without proper accreditation. Scemama said earlier in the week that he had been denied accreditation because he represented Israeli television."

"The killing of veteran ITN reporter Terry Lloyd is "a terrible tragedy that must be investigated", the NUJ said today"

 Women of Courage
I caught the author of the book Women of Courage and the woman who helped bring it to the stage on KPFK yesterday. Sounds fascinating both as a read and a production:
"Deemed a “wildfire success” by the press, Courage Onstage is a unique blend of theater and reality. From the loud and dramatic to the quiet and fragile, courage comes alive in the stories of five women who changed the world around them. Their stories are woven on the thread of author Katherine Martin’s journey as she wrote Women of Courage, surprised by what she found and changed by the discovery of true courage, a far cry from stereotypes."
Seems a production will be happening on 10th April:
This dramatic presentation will tell the stories of these courageous local women:

* Julie Su, who, a year out of law school, brought a landmark lawsuit against garment "sweatshops"

* Michèle Ohayon, who was nominated for an Academy award for her feature documentary, Colors Straight Up

* Kathy Buckley, America's favorite hearing-impaired comedienne and author of If You Could Hear What I See

* Sabrina Ward Harrison, the young author of Spilling Open: The Art of Becoming Yourself

* Margaret Ensley, who created Mothers Against Violence in Schools following the random shooting death of her son at school

When Comedy Rises to the Occasion
picture
"War continues in Iraq. They're calling it Operation Iraqi Freedom. They were going to call it Operation Iraqi Liberation until they realized that spells 'OIL.'" -- Jay Leno

"President Bush has said that he does not need approval from the UN to wage war, and I'm thinking, well, hell, he didn't need the approval of the American voters to become president, either." -- David Letterman

"In a speech earlier today President Bush said if Iraq gets rid of Saddam Hussein, he will help the Iraqi people with food, medicine, supplies, housing, education ? anything that's needed. Isn't that amazing? He finally comes up with a domestic agenda ? and it's for Iraq. Maybe we could bring that here if it works out." -- Jay Leno

 Going into the Void...
Sherie from NCN had this post Prophecy of War - People of Peace the other day... about interesting near-death experiences in relation to whatever the hell is going down right now.

I had a similar experience to the first one cited, when I was in college ... and have had many different experiences since. That idea of being shown all of your possessions, that happened on a 'trip' which was so much about a personal and transpersonal idea of Armageddon. This was before I had read anything about 'Christ Consciousness' so it seems relivant. I was shown how all the pathways we walk, the souls we meet, there is this Other looking back at us and helping us along the way... shown just someone that smiles at you as you pass... that kind of thing. Then there was the Decision to stay in the duality, versus the 'knowing' of being in the flow... something about the human experiment to be divided....

 SUPPORT WHAT?
My tirade from Sunday night, continued about this heated issue... They are talking about it also in Glastonbury in the UK, as I am still connected to the local e-list. Here's some of the latest thoughts/ news on this subject:

1. Three British soldiers sent home after protesting at civilian deaths

Richard Norton-Taylor
Monday March 31, 2003
The Guardian
"Three British soldiers in Iraq have been ordered home after objecting to the conduct of the war. It is understood they have been sent home for protesting that the war is killing innocent civilians.
....

Any refusal of soldiers to obey orders is highly embarrassing to the government, with ministers becoming increasingly worried about the way the war is developing.

It is also causing concern to British military chiefs who are worried about growing evidence of civilians being killed in fighting involving American soldiers around urban areas in southern Iraq. "

2. A good analogy my friend Alister heard on the radio:
Some friends of yours are planning to rob a bank, you are opposed to armed robbery, you try to discourage them... so when they say "Hey, the heist has already started, we're holding 50 hostages right now, plus we shot one of them... you have to support us now until this thing is over"

Should you?

Can I continue with my analogy? If you had a son in a gang that was robbing a bank, and was about to rob the bank next door, would you be incensed at suggestions that the bank take counter-measures?

3.Someone said.... 'Support the Troops -- As the Germans supported Hitler. It's that simple.'
See
War, Hitler And Cheney
by Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr.:
" The pivotal feature of that warfare, into which an already bankrupt U.S. has just been plunged, is the de facto usurpation of the function of a still-sitting President by Halliburton's Vice-President Cheney, and by a gang of his organized-crime-linked lackeys polluting not only the Departments of Defense and State, but also polluting, and virtually castrating elected and other leaders of the nominal opposition, the Democratic Party.  Gas Boycots - Urban Lore Email
picture This plan sounds good, emotionally, but in reality, it won't change prices. It was first circulated over a year ago. Here's why it doesn't make sense and won't work (taken directly from www.snopes.com, which debunks urban legends and scams that get passed around the Internet):

FEDERAL DEFICIT SOARS, HEADING FOR YEARLY RECORD
Associated Press
Thursday, March 20, 2003

Full article here.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The government ran up a deficit of $193.9 billion in the first five months of the 2003 budget year, nearly three times the deficit for the same period a year earlier.

In February alone, the deficit was $96.3 billion, the largest on record.

The latest figures, released Thursday by the Treasury Department, highlighted the government's deteriorating fiscal situation. Record deficits are forecast this year and next.

The total so far this fiscal year, from October through February, compares with $67.7 billion a year earlier....

On the Net: Treasury Department

I am sure this is part of the reason why even Republican Senators cut Bush's tax cut in half because of his first downpayment for slaughter....
